So unfortunately I've suffered from a little sickness these past few days but it certainly didn't help that the weather was cold and rainy! Here are some tips for how to stay classy when the temperature starts dropping.
I am a firm believer in the cardigan anytime, anywhere. They are most useful in fall when you need to be extra warm outside but it's toasty inside. Try classics from J.Crew or get funky with some from Anthropologie. Here are a few greats I found:
Can't you picture yourself snuggling up with this J.Crew cardi and some hot chocolate?
This green Anthropologie cardi will make any outfit pop and the short sleeves will keep you from getting too warm when you're inside.
Another important thing to consider is footwear. Obviously in the rain, flats are out and boots are in. Rainboots are a must in anyone's shoe closet, but you should also try to invest in a stylish boot that can be weatherproofed to last you a couple of seasons sloshing through puddles.
These Hunter Wellies are a classic, and are most versatile in navy, also look for their welly socks to keep you extra warm in the winter.
Frye boots are an expensive investment but if you treat the leather they will last you a lifetime. Also: Frye boots have been spotted at discount stores such as Marshalls, so keep your eyes peeled savvy shoppers!
Of course, how can you fight off the storms without the proper outerwear? These light-weight coats will keep you dry but not too hot. Both of these choices can be packed up into a small travel bag which is great for on the go fashion!
This Laundry by Shelli Segal jacket has a hidden hood and plenty of pockets to keep your cell phone dry but handy.
Save the best for last, right? I nearly died when I saw this RainForest jacket! Totally waterproof, very chic, this is something my wardrobe needs ASAP. It also has a hood you can zip-in if needed, best find of the day for sure.
Remember: Although it is always important to be fashionable, it is more important to be smart. Nothing is worse than looking like a wet puppy in the rain! Stay dry out there!
